During the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, 39 countries competed against each other to take the coveted cup back to the home country. With unique performances, the 39 artists will show their musical talents to approximately 200 million viewers! And all of that live from Ahoy Rotterdam. Throughout the city, spectacular urban clothing inspired by and recycled from existing flags have been presented under the banner of "Sing Along City". A colorful "walking path" with lyrics from well-known Eurovision songs combined with the colors of country flags. Among other things, benches were decorated from the station to the Erasmus Bridge, while the above-ground metro lanes in South have been tackled. “It was a visual musical wave through the city. In addition, various art projects were set up, such as 'De Splash', an interactive swimming pool in Rotterdam South and a large street art mural in which visual artist Tymon de Laat Jeangu Macrooy immortalized on a huge wall at Ahoy. The mural, dubbed "Birth of a New Age", is part of a larger street art project called #UpStreet.
